OCR in 38 languages to PDF-XChange programs 2g2x3p

1 - desired OCR files in https://www.tracker-software.com/pdf-xchange-viewer-ocr

2 - Be sure to Base Language Pack, as all others require this one.

3 - Unzip and run (OCRBaseLangPack or OCRAdditionalLangsTotal or other, but I have only tested for these two.)

4 - Same thing as always: ok, next, next, ok, etc. finish. But in some point it will say "can't find installed PDF-XChange Viewer/Editor". Click Ok.

5 - In the next step, as it didn't find installed PDF-XChange Viewer/Editor, it will ask for a path.

6a - For PDF-XChange Editor, answer X:\PortableApps\PDF-XChangeEditorPortable\App\PDFXEdit\PluginsData\OCRLanguages (where Secret is your portable drive)

6b - PDF-XChange Viewer, the path is X:\PortableApps\PDF-XChangeViewerPortable\App\PDFV_Portable\ocrdats (where Secret is your portable drive)

PS: If you have intalled PDF-XChange Viewer or PDF-XChange Editor non-portable versions, it will not ask for a path and will install OCR files inside the non-portable version. In this case, look for these paths:

If you have PDF-XChange Viewer, C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Viewer\ocrdats
If you have PDF-XChange Editor, C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Editor\PluginsData\OCRLanguages
If you have both, it will install in both paths, choose one of them.

Next, copy all files inside this folder to path in step 6a and/or 6b above.

OCR languages installation does not work like this anymore 4g291v

Hi,

I have a problem with the installation of the additional OCR languages. In the portable apps folder of PDF-Xchange, there is now a folder:
\PortableApps\PDF-XChangeEditorPortable\App\PDFXEdit\Dictionaries
In this folder are the dictionary files, e.g. dict-en.oxt. With the installer of the additional OCR languages, I get files in the format e.g. vie_pxocr.dat. These are not recognized by the program! There is no OCR folder, and there are no other .oxt or .dat files in any other folder. Probably Tracker Software has changed the file format, but the portable apps version does not recognize this new format?
